Moving to Suzhou

It is an important city for its cultural and historical heritage as in 1981, this ancient city was listed by the State Council as one of the four cities (the other three being Beijing, Hangzhou and Guilin) where the protection of historical and cultural heritage as well as natural scenery should be treated as a prior project. Furthermore, classical gardens in Suzhou are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 and 2000.
The city comprises of four districts (Pingjiang, Taichang, Jinchang, Canglang and the suburbs) and six satellite cities (Changshou, Zhangjiagang, Taichang, Kunshan, Wuxian and Wujiang), which covers a total area of 8,488 square kilometers with a population of about 6.3 million.
Suzhou has been one of the 14 Open Economic Areas in 1985. Since then, The Suzhou Municipal Government has been committed to economic construction and development. Furthermore, due to its location near Shanghai, Suzhou enjoys advantageous geography and excellent land, water and air transportation. Two airports are conveniently located in Suzhou and it is only slightly over hour drive to the Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai.
