Moving to Qingdao

Qingdao Beach
Have you ever been to a Chinese restaurant in your home town? If so, I am sure you have seen a green bottled beer called Tsingtao. For beer lovers, this is the home of the famous Qingdao beer brewery. Being occupied by the Germans from 1898 to 1914, Qingdao has a European flavor, especially its architecture. It is also considered the Bavaria-on-the-East-China-Sea, where they even sell Bratwurst on the streets! You are very lucky to be moving here because it is considered one of the cleaner and more beautiful cities in China and both foreigners and locals agree that the city is one of the most livable cities in China.

According to the Chinese tradition of feng shui, which focuses on cultivating positive energy within spaces, considers the position of having your ‘back to the mountains, facing the sea’ is considered to be one of the most auspicious arrangements possible; Qingdao is considered one of the best locations in China. Laoshan, Asia’s highest coastal mountain, is a short drive away, and the city’s core is spread along a 40-mile waterfront. Additionally, it is a city that has one of the largest bathing beaches in Asia, so you can definitely get your tan in the summer. It is also ‘China’s Sailing City’, host of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Regatta and a regular stop for international yachting events hoping to expand their Asian visibility.

If you like history, Qingdao has more to offer! You can see number of relics dating back to early dynasties, for example, a fragment of a very early version of the Great Wall, and a temple complex that is considered the cradle of Taoism. Shandong Province (where Qingdao is located) has also played a rich role in China’s philosophical tradition, as the birthplace of Confucius. We are sure that you will enjoy moving to Qingdao!
