Moving to Qingdao - Medical Facilities

Qingdao has a small range of international-standard medical treatment options. It’s important to know what your insurance covers while in China because hospital treatment and stays can be very expensive. Government-run hospital fees are inexpensive, but private-run hospital fees are quite high.

If you go in for treatment, it is advisable to bring a translator. If you are to stay in hospital for any amount of time, be advised that virtually all public hospitals in China require the patient to see to his/her own food, cleaning, washing etc - these things are not done by hospital staff. Have a friend or helper come regularly while you are bedridden.
Here are some examples of medical facilities in Qingdao:

- YongHao OB & GYN Clinic: excellent Korean-managed General Practitioner
- International Clinic of Qingdao Municipal Hospital
- Bellaire Medical Centre: somewhat more homeopathic/chiropractic treatments available
