MOVING TO CHINA - GOVERNMENT & TERRITORY

The PRC is a communist state under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The current President of China is Hu Jintao, the Vice-President is Zeng Qinghong, and the Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. The President and the Vice-President serve for a term of five years and are elected by the National People’s Congress (NPC), which is the legislative branch of the Chinese government.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is really the only party in China. There are eight other registered parties, but they are all controlled by the CCP. The party and the government were indistinguishable until recent years. Now, more and more, the government has policy implementing powers.
