There are a number of very good international schools in Guangzhou catering to the children of expatriates. Most are located either in or close to expatriate residential areas, and there are usually buses that transport children from housing compounds to the schools. Class sizes are typically smaller than in schools in the UK or US, and this can lead to a shortage of school places, so it's best to apply early. Fees also tend to be higher than in the West.
The quality of teaching is generally high, but can vary from school to school. It is advisable to talk to both school staff and the parents of pupils before enrolling your child. Pupils must hold a foreign passport to be enrolled at the international schools.
